POSNA President
POSNA would like to congratulate POPS on
completing another wonderful year and wish everyone success
in 2010. We have watched the progress of POPS with
satisfaction and pride. Your organization has matured into
a very positive force for pediatric orthopedic care of
children and POSNA is proud to have played a role. The
POSNA annual meeting will be in Montreal in May of 2011 and
we look forward to seeing you there.

Shellye Crawford RN, MSN, CPNP -
President
Shellye is a Pediatric Orthopedic Nurse Practitioner at
Children's Medical Center of Dallas in Orthopedic Surgery.
Shellye graduated from Dallas Baptist University with her
BSN in 1993 and MS from Texas Woman's University in 2000.
Shellye's specialties are orthopedic trauma and
musculoskeletal infection. She is the team leader for our 16
member group of NP/Pa's.

Wendy Moon, RN, CPNP - President-Elect
Wendy is a Pediatric Nurse
Practitioner in the Division of Pediatric Orthopedics at
Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. She recently celebrated 24
years in Pediatrics there. Wendy received her BSN from St.
Olaf College in 1986, and her MS from the University of MN
in 1998. She is a Fellow in the Scoliosis Research Society,
participates in scoliosis outcomes research, manages many
adolescent idiopathic scoliosis patients, and does a lot of
non-operative trauma. In addition, Wendy is active on Mayo's
Hospital Ethics Consultation Team.

Grande DNP, RN, CPNP - Treasurer
Linda is a Pediatric Orthopedic Nurse
Practitioner at Children's Medical Center of Dallas/Legacy
in the Orthopedic Surgery Department. Linda graduated from
Maryville University with her BSN in 1995, a MSN from The
University of Iowa in 2003 and a DNP from The University of
Iowa in 2008. Linda has been a Committee member for PNCB
"Test Item Writing Committee". Currently she serves as
co-chair for the "Research and Evidence Based Committee" at
Children's Medical Center of Dallas and participates and in
retrospective musculoskeletal research. Specialties are
orthopedic trauma/musculoskeletal infection, and evidence
based practice.

Chuck is a Pediatric
orthopedic Nurse Practitioner at the Children's
Medical Center of Dallas and Children's Medical

Surgery. Chuck graduated with his BSN from Troy
State University in 1998 and his MS from Texas
Woman's University in 2003. Chuck's specialties
include pediatric sports medicine, level I pediatric
musculoskeletal trauma and hand trauma.

Colleen is a Pediatric Orthopedic Nurse
Practitioner at The Nemours Foundation/A. I. duPont Hospital
for Children. She is
the Skeletal Dysplasia Coordinator.
Colleen graduated with her Diploma in Nursing from
St. Luke’s School
of Nursing in 1987,
BSN from Penn State
in 1992 and her MSN from
Gwynedd-Mercy
College in 2004. She has
currently been accepted into the Doctoral of Nursing
Practice program at The Thomas Jefferson University School
of Nursing. Her
interests are skeletal dysplasia, cervical spine stenosis/instability,
spine deformities and leg-length discrepancies.
She is president-elect of PADELVAL chapter of NAPNAP
as well as secretary of the Ortho Special Interest Group.

Ray is a Pediatric Orthopedic Nurse
Practitioner at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia in

1996 and his MSN form Villanova in 2000. Ray’s specialties
include pediatric benign and malignant bone tumors, spine
deformities, and thoracic insufficiency syndrome.

Founding Committee
The Pediatric
Orthopaedic Practitioners Society’s twelve member Founding Board was
established in May 2005. The Founding Board is responsible for
supervision, control and direction of the affairs of POPS during the
initial development phase. They determine its policies or changes,
actively implement its purposes, and have discretion in the
disbursement of its funds.
